Venezia (Venice) in 12 hours "being a tourist"

So we arrived in the Venice airport at 2:30 a.m. with the time change and most of my friends fell asleep in the airport. I decided to be on the look out and stayed awake the whole time. At 7 a.m. we bought bus tickets and arrived at the Santa Lucia train station in Venice. We had breakfast at a caffe close to la stazione. I had an espresso and a chocolate cornetto. It was a typical Italian breakfast. Then we decided to walk the 2.5 km to the Piazza San Marco. We all enjoyed the sites along the way and stopped every couple of minutes or so to take pictures or give our backs a break. We all were carrying our backpacks filled with clothes and gifts from Santorini. Finally we made it to Piazza San Marco. It was just as I remembered it. The pigeons were still everywhere and the square was filled with tourists. I took some pictures of course and then we walked back to the train station to catch our train. We made time to get paninis and enjoy the view near the water. At this point of the trip I was exhausted. I had no sleep besides the two hours on the airplane, and I walked over three miles with a heavy backpack. But I made the best of the situation because I was in Venice on this beautiful day. After lunch I bought a beautiful scarf that was reversible and I took many pictures of gondolas in the water. At 1:30 p.m. my friends and I boarded the train and we were off to Bologna. It was time to start my new adventure in a new city! I can't wait to meet my roommates and live in one place for four months. The Bologna post is coming soon but for now I hope everyone enjoys my pictures of Venice.
Con tanto amore,
Samantha
